SOMMERFELD ARNOLD: (1868-1951) German Theoretical Physicist, a Pioneer in atomic and quantum physics. Sommerfeld is credited with the introduction of the second and third quantum numbers, azimuthal and magnetic respectively. He also pioneered X-ray wave theory. T.L.S., `A. Sommerfeld´, one page, 4to, Munich, 19th November 1925, to the publishing company Ernst Heimeran, in German. Sommerfeld states in part `You have been very kind offering me your published images at a preferential price
