CLEMENT IX: (1600-1669) Pope of the Roman Catholic Church 1667-69. Rare L.S., `Giulio Arciv. Di Tarso´, with one holographof text, one page, 4to, Rome, 1st of May 1655, in Italian. A boldly penned dark ink letter. Clement IX, in his capacity as Archbishop of Tarso, thanks his correspondent for his congratulations on the occasion of his nomination to Governor of Rome and secretary of state under Pope Alexander VII, his predecessor. With blank integral leaf. Very small overall minor age wear and creasing, otherwise about VG £1000-1500
