MANET EDOUARD: (1832-1883) French Painter. An unusual A.N., to a 4.5 x 3.5 printed card, bearing his name, and his Parisian address at ''4, Rue St. Petersbourg, au rez de chaussée'', Paris, April [1876-77], in French. The card is addressed by Manet to `Monsieur Ernest d´Hervilly´. The card bears to the heading the attractive printed motto ''Faire Vrai - Laisser Dire'', (''Make true - Let say''), the printed text stating in the third person ''Mr. Manet kindly asks Monsieur Ernest d´Hervilly to honour him with your visit to see his paintings, refused by the 1876 Jury, which will be exhibited in his painting studio, from April 15th to May 1st. Very small overall minor age wear to the borders, otherwise G £800-1200
