[TROTSKY LEON]: (1879-1940) Trotsky dictates his memoirs at Frida Kahlo´ s home - [TROTSKY LEON]: (1879-1940) Bolshevik Revolutionary, one of the leaders of the Russian October Revolution and a key figure in the establishment of the Soviet Union. A good vintage unsigned 6.5 x 5 photograph, the image depicting Trotsky standing in a full-length pose by a small table in a room of La Casa Azul, the home of his lover, Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, accompanied by a male assistant and female typist, c.1938. With the copyright stamp of the Paris branch of the Keystone photographic agency to the verso, alongside the original printed caption, stating ´Trotzky, actuellement en Exil au Mexique, a commencé à écrire ses mémoires. Le voici dans sa demeure de Mexico-City, dictant ses mémoires´ (Translation: ´Trotsky, currently in exile in Mexico, has begun writing his memoirs. Here he is at his home in Mexico City, dictating his memoirs´ ). VG Trotsky worked on the manuscripts of his biographical and political works firstly at La Casa Azul, and later at his own fortified villa in Coyoacán, where he was assassinated in 1940.
