MARY OF TECK: (1867-1953) - MARY OF TECK: (1867-1953) Queen Consort of the United Kingdom 1910-36, wife of King George V. A good vintage signed 8 x 11 photograph, the image depicting Queen Mary standing in a full-length pose in the Drawing Room at Marlborough House on 12th May 1937, the day of George VI's coronation. The Queen wears her coronation dress, ermine cloak, and her coronation crown, worn as a circlet. Photograph by Hay Wrightson of New Bond Street, London and bearing his pencil signature to the upper mount and imprint to the verso. Signed ( ´Mary R´ ) by the Queen in blue fountain pen ink to the lower photographer´s mount and dated 1947 in her hand. Some very light, extremely minor age wear, VG Hay Wrightson (1874-1949) British society and portrait photographer who established a London studio at 30 New Bond Street in the early 1920s, moving to 41 New Bond Street in 1929. He was appointed Court Photographer in 1936, and became particularly noted for his portraits of members of the British Royal Family and photographed King George VI's coronation in 1937.
