Grouchy´, with few corrections and amendments in the hand of Grouchy, one page, 4to, Nantes, 2nd October 1793, to the Administrators of the Department of the Loire, in French. Grouchy refers to the military escorts requested for the grain convoys and explains how the request was incorrectly submitted, stating in part `.. ..´ (Translation: ”... to whom an escort was requested yesterday to protect the grain shipment; no doubt, if you had addressed yourself in writing to the one from whom all orders relating to troop movements should emanate, sufficient forces would have been ordered to ensure the convoy's safety, or you would have been informed if the commander-in-chief's decisions made it impossible to provide them, having not been summoned to any of the deliberations of the assembled authorities... I have been unable to contribute to the common good... to contribute with them to all that can ensure the prosperity of the republic, and to the duty that I have sought to fulfill on every occasion...”) With address leaf.
