LIPATTI DINU: (1917-1950) - LIPATTI DINU: (1917-1950) Romanian pianist and composer. A scarce, bold fountain pen ink signature ( ´Dinu Lipatti´ ) to the head of a small 8vo page removed from an album. The page also bears seventeen other ink signatures, to the recto and verso, of various individuals including Étienne de Beaumont (1883-1956) French patron of the arts, decorator, costume designer and librettist, his wife Edith de Beaumont (1876-1952), Nelly Guerlain (wife of the French perfumer Jacques Guerlain), Jasmin Boissier (1913-2008) daughter of American industrialist Paul A. Schoellkopf, and her first husband Andre Boissier, etc. Autographs of Lipatti are scarce owing to his tragically young death at the age of 33 from the effects of Hodgkin´s disease. VG
