GORA TADEUSZ: (1918-2010) - GORA TADEUSZ: (1918-2010) Polish aviator, a fighter pilot of World War II who had previously been a global gilding pioneer and the first ever recipient of the Lilienthal Gliding Medal. D.S., Gora , one page, oblong 4to, RAF Friston (East Sussex), 31st July 1944. The typescript document is a Consolidated Diver Combat Report detailing Gora´s actions with 316 Polish Squadron whilst flying a Mustang Mk.III, the narrative for his aerial victory stating ´First seen about 30 mls. S. of Hastings. Attacked from dead astern from 300 yds. Diver exploded in sea, 20 mls. S. of Hastings´ . The document is also signed by the Polish fighter pilots Piotr Syperek (1915-1991) and Kazimierz Kobusinski (1917-1980) alongside a report of their aerial actions, the narrative stating ´Seen about 30 mls. S. of Coast from distance of 100 yds. Opened fire dead astern. Diver exploded in sea 15 mls. S. of Coast´ . Some very light, minor age wear, and one small file hole to the upper right corner, VG
