GETTY J. PAUL: (1892-1976) - GETTY J. PAUL: (1892-1976) American petroleum industrialist who founded the Getty Oil Company in 1942. D.S., J. Paul Getty , one page, oblong 4to, n.p., 15th July 1922. The partially printed document is a stock certificate issued to G. W. Woolley and confirms his ownership of 1,000 shares of the Capital Stock of the Oklahoma Oil Corporation. The attractive decorative printed borders of the document include vignette images of oil fields, derricks, and spouting oil. Signed by Getty at the foot in his capacity as President and countersigned by H. M- Hoffnagle, secretary of the corporation, alongside a gold blind embossed circular paper seal. With a couple of red ink cancellation marks, including a light cross through Getty´s signature. VG
