SEBERG JEAN: (1938-1979) - SEBERG JEAN: (1938-1979) American actress, an icon of the French New Wave. An excellent vintage signed and inscribed 8 x 10 photograph of Seberg standing in a defiant three-quarter length pose wearing a steel plate suit of armour, featuring pauldrons and brassards, and with a chainmail coif upon her head, in costume from her film debut as St. Joan of Arc in the historical drama film Saint Joan (1957), adapted from George Bernard Shaw´s play of the same title. Signed by Seberg in blue fountain pen ink, ´To Jimmy, Good luck, Jean Seberg´ , her surname partially running across a darker area of the image. Signed photographs of Seberg are rare following her tragic death by suicide at the age of 40.
