BONAPARTE JEROME: (1784-1860) King of Westphalia 1807-13. Younger brother of Napoleon Bonaparte. A good A.L.S., Your affectionate father Jerome, one page, 8vo, Livorno, 26th May 1844, to his daughter, Princess Mathilde, in French. On the occasion of the Princess´ birthday, Bonaparte writes a letter to her as he has to leave early and cannot wait until his Mathilde wakes up, stating `..I have to do so in writing.. What I have told your brother to transmit you must have pleased you!!! I ask my dear Napoleon to kiss you on my behalf, give you a bouquet of flowers and a small souvenir..´ Bonaparte refers to his son Napoleon, ''Plon-Plon'', two years younger than Mathilde, wishes happiness to his daughter and sends his best regards to her husband `..who finds out today that he has an old wife of 24 years old!!´. VG £100-150 Mathilde Bonaparte (1820-1904) Princess of San Donato. Daughter of Jerome Bonaparte and Catherine of Wurttemberg. She married Count Anatoly Demidov, a Russian Diplomat and arts patron.
