EMPRESS ALEXANDRA FEODOROVNA: (1872-1918) Alix of Hesse. Empress Consort of Russia 1894-1917, wife of Tsar Nicholas II. The last Tsarina of Russia, known for her notorious friendship with the Russian mystic Rasputin. Assassinated. A good A.N.S., `Alexandra´, to the verso of a postcard, in pencil, to Masha, in English. The Empress says `To Masha wishing you every Easter-blessing. Best love from Alexandra´, and below `Many messages from all´, also dated 1911. Showing to the postcard damaged front cover a colorful drawing with printed text in Cyrillic, but with large traces of former affixing. Matted in black, beneath a colour 5 x 7 photograph showing Empress Alexandra, crowned, in a half-length pose, to an overall of 8 x 12. G £300-400
