CELINE LOUIS FERDINAND: (1894-1961) French Novelist. Known as Celine, being his real name Destouches, a controversial writer because of his antisemitism. An interesting A.L.S., with his real name `L.F. Destouches´, two pages, 4to, n.p., n.d., [1942], to a friend, in French. Celine states in part `You must be hearing bells... So many regrets since your departure. The poor people are even poorer. And it is not only a little bit.. Things are getting better, they worsen.. All is bursting of hunger and cold..´ further saying `Things are happening very quickly now. England is becoming Bolshevik at a glance..´ and before concluding states `I find myself almost alone. What a triumph! The way around! Eagle in ruins! Raven! Owl!..´ Celine adds to the left border `Gustave is eliminated. That was to be expected.´ Folded, with a small tear to the right edge.
