RADETZKY JOSEPH: (1766-1858) Czech Nobleman and Field-Marshal who served under the Austrian Habsburg Monarchy during the Napoleonic Wars and later. Radetzky was immortalized by Johann Strauss I with his Radetzky March always played as the last piece at the New Year´s Concert of the Vienna Philarmonic. A good L.S., `Radetzky´, a bold and good example signature, one page, folio, Verona, 7th January 1856, to His Excellency Field Marshal and fortress Commander, Baron of Culoz, in German. Radetzky approves the report received dated the day before. Small overall age wear to the borders, small creasing and a very small tear to the right edge, otherwise about VG £100-150
