GEORGE I OF GREECE: (1845-1913) King of Greece 1863-1913. Assassinated. Rare and attractive D.S., `George´ in Greek, one page, 16.5 x 11, Athens, 30th January 1880, to Theodoros Reppa, in Greek. The partially printed document, entitled ''George I - King of Greece'', being the title of Great Officer of the Cross of the Royal Saviour Order, granted by the King to Reppa, representative of Greece to Tunisia. The title bears to the front a large and very attractive Royal paper seal. Countersigned to the right bottom corner by Theodoros Delyannis. Folded. VG £250-350 Theodoros Delyannis (1820-1905) also spelled Diligiannis, Greek Statesman. Delyannis was Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prime Minister and finally Minister of Interior when he was assassinated for the measures he approved against the gambling houses.
