TWOMBLY CY: (1928-2011) American painter of large-scale and graffiti works. Signed postcard photograph by the American Painter, the image depicting an intense red colour work of Twombly entitled Bacchus to the safety curtain at the Vienna Opera Theatre. Signed in dark black ink with his name alone at the head of the image. EX £100-150
The exhibition series ''Safety Curtain'' is a project of Museum in Progress in cooperation with the Vienna State Opera, which transforms the safety curtain into a temporary exhibition space for contemporary art. The CY Twombly work Bacchus was exhibited in 2010-11.
