DERAIN ANDRE: (1880-1954) French Painter and Sculptor. Co-founder with Matisse of the Fauvism. A good A.L.S., `Derain´, two pages, 8vo, written to first and third page, Paris, 11th February 1936, to Monsieur Dezarrois, in French. Derain states `I feel obliged to prevent you regarding my painting ''The Portrait of Dignimont''. In fact, this painting has not yet been returned and this is bothering me a lot..´ At the conclusion, Derain annotates his name again and his full address. One stain to the third page, not affecting the text or signature, otherwise about VG £300-400
