PROUST MARCEL: (1871-1922) French Novelist and Essayist. Best known for his major novel A la Recherche du Temps Perdu (`In search of Lost Time´). A good and unpublished A.L.S., `Marcel Proust´, one page, 8vo, mourning paper, Paris, n.p., n.d., `Mardi soir´ ("Tuesday evening"), [26th June 1906], to Monsieur Albert-Emile Sorel, in French. I do not stop a single moment thinking about you. I would like to be near you, I am not allowed to get up yet. I am very unhappy. I like you as much as I admire you and I can sense from the news that things are going very badly. I'm not telling you to have courage. I know that in those hours the only pain is not having any. With all my heart to you and with you.") Extremely small clipped left lower corner, with small overall minor age wear, otherwise G
