A charming A.L.S., Richard Wagner, three pages, small 8vo, n.p., n.d., to a lady, seemingly Fanny d´Eresby, the wife of Gustave-Alexandre Flaxland, in French. Wagner commences his letter by stating ´J´espere encore trouver quelque chose pour etre envoyee avec la boite melodique a ma femme; ce sera peut-etre un chapeau et des gants´ (Translation: ´I'm still hoping to find something to send with the melody box to my wife; maybe a hat and gloves´) and continues to ask that Mr. Flaxland waits in order that everything can be sent together, explaining that the additional items will be with them tomorrow, or Monday at the latest, between 2 and 3 o´clock, and then everything can be given to the shipping agent in the evening, and that hopefully they can arrive in Dresden on the 24th. Wagner concludes his letter by remarking ´Pardonnez-moi, chere Madame, ces petits tracas, mais vous etiez si bonne, et l´idee de faire present a ma femme du petit instrument melodieux etait si delicieuse!´ (Translation: ´Forgive me, dear Madame, for these little worries, but you were so kind, and the idea of presenting my wife with the little melodious instrument was so delicious!´).
