CHERUBINI LUIGI: (1760-1842) Italian Composer. L.S., ` L. Cherubini´, one pages 4to, Paris., 12th January 1830, to Monsieur Savene, Master of the chapel de la métropole, in French. Cherubini, in his capacity as Director of the Royal Music School, as the printed title states ''Le Directeur de l´Ecole Royale de musique et de Déclamation Lyrique'', thanks his correspondent and colleague as professor of the Royal Music School for his greeting letter, and states in part `Je suis bien sensible, Monsieur, aux voeux que vous m´adressez à l´occasion du renouvellement de l´année et je vous prie de recevoir tous mes remerciements...vos témoignages de gratitude me seront toujours chers...´ (Translation: " I am very sensitive, Sir, to the wishes that you address to me on the occasion of the renewal of the year and I ask you to accept all my thanks... your expressions of gratitude will always be dear to me.")
