VEIDT CONRAD: (1893-1943) German Actor. Best known for his role as Major Strasser in Casablanca (1942), his last film role. Veidt was a former UFA star in German silent films, who was forced to leave Germany together with his Jewish wife after Nazis came to power in 1933. Unusual signed postcard photograph, ` Conrad Veidt´, the Ross image from Berlin depicting a young Veidt standing in a half-length pose. Signed in bold dark fountain pen ink to the lower part of the image, also dated beneath in his hand 1925. G
