MENDIZABAL JUAN ALVAREZ: (1790-1853) Spanish politician and economist who served as Prime Minister of Spain 1835-36. A.L.S., J Az. Mendizabal, one page, small 4to, London, 22nd May 1833, to Messrs. Fox & Co. at Falmouth. Mendizabal writes a letter of introduction for Colonel Baron de Suarce ´who is to embark for Oporto in one of the steam vessels lying at your port belonging to our Expedition, and I shall feel particularly obliged by your showing him every attention´. A few small tears and minor areas of paper loss to the left edge, only very slightly affecting one word of text and not the signature. G
