LINDBERGH CHARLES: (1902-1974) American aviator who made the first solo non-stop flight across the Atlantic from Paris to New York in the Spirit of St. Louis, May 1927. An historic vintage signed 6.5 x 4.5 photograph of Lindbergh proudly standing outdoors in a three-quarter length pose at the Elysee Palace having just been awarded the Legion d´honneur, the highest French order of merit (the award clearly visible on the lapel of Lindbergh´s suit) on 23rd May 1927. The French President Gaston Doumergue and the United States Ambassador to France, Myron Herrick, can be seen standing alongside Lindbergh. Signed by the aviator in black fountain pen ink with his name alone to a light area of the image, and also signed by Myron Herrick. Some light surface and corner creasing, G
