FUCHS VIVIAN: (1908-1999) English scientist and explorer who led the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition which reached the South Pole overland in 1958. Signed 3.5 x 5.5 photograph of Fuchs in a head and shoulders pose. Signed with his name alone to a clear area of the background. Together with a dark fountain pen ink signature ( ´Vivian Fuchs´) at the head of a sheet of 8vo printed stationery from the Trans-Antarctic Expedition, dated 1992 in his hand and also annotated by Fuchs to the lower edge ´written on a piece of the 1955-58 expedition paper´.
