OCHOA SEVERO: (1905-1993) Spanish physician and biochemist, Nobel Prize winner for Physiology or Medicine, 1959. A brief A.L.S., Severo Ochoa, one page, 4to, Nutley, New Jersey, 14th February 1979, to Erwin Garzarolli-Thurnlackh- Ochoa states, in full, ´The above is a portion of a rough draft of a scientific paper I was preparing some time ago´. The upper half of the page features twelve lines of text in Ochoa´s hand relating to an experiment he had been conducting invloving extracellular polymeric substance (ESP) and noting the conclusions. Accompanied by the original printed envelope from the Roche Institute of Molecular Biology. VG
