KIENZL WILHELM: (1857-1941) - KIENZL WILHELM: (1857-1941 ) Austrian Composer. Kienzl studied under Liszt before completing doctoral studies at the University of Vienna. An excellent signed printed score, ` Wilhelm Kienzl´, with inscription, eight pages, 10.5 x 13.5 (27cm x 34 cm), n.p., 26th December 1895, in German. The musical printed score corresponds to and is entitled Der Evangelimann, his third and most famous opera, written in 1894. The score being the piano version for the first act introduction. To the heading of the front page, and in bold black ink, Kienzl annotates ` Dem aus der art geschlagenen sohne des waldpoeten vom verfuhrer´ (”The misguided son of the poet of nature by the seducer”). Some overall minor age wear, with few small tears to edges, not affecting the text or signature. G
