DEMIDOV ANATOLY NIKOLAIEVICH: (1813-1870) Prince of San Donato. Russian Diplomat and Arts Patron. A.L.S., Demidoff, two pages, 8vo, n.p. [Florence], n.d. [12th April 1854], to an unidentified Count, in French. The letter bears to the upper left corner an attractive blind embossed monogramme. Demidov states `Monsieur le Comte, you have misunderstood me or I did not explain myself properly. I learned that you submitted your resignation as member of the Committee
´ further saying `..I was assured that you reiterated your decision last Monday.. I would have been charmed to serve.´ With blank integral leaf partially detached, and an attractive watermark. VG £80-100
