CAMUS ALBERT: (1913-1960) French Author and Philosopher. Nobel Prize winner in Literature, 1957. An excellent signed T.L.S., `Albert Camus´, 4to, Paris, 25th July 1958, on the Librairie Gallimard printed stationery, to Roger Ikor, in French. Camus states in part `Dear friend, I find your letter on my return from Greece where I tried scrupulously to forget about our common misery. Now I find again the same concerns, but with better helth…´ Camus further refers to his correspondent proposal about creating a new newspaper saying `..to clarify a bit some confused minds who believe themselves being today on the left political side. Unfortunately I am an old journalist and I can respond to you saying that the task presents huge difficulties.´ Camus explains in detail the cost of creating a weekly newspaper, the number of people requested, the time etc… And before concluding states `I personally lived that experience, and I am not sure about repeating it, for the simple reason that I wish to write my books and now with my age I have more and more anxiety (in this regard) about the time passing. A letter of very interesting content. EX £200-300
