SIBELIUS JAN: (1865-1957) Finnish Composer. His music is credited with having helped Finland to develop a national identity for independence from Russia. A good A.L.S., Jan Sibelius, one page, 4to, Jarvenpaa, 9th December 1921, to an unidentified lady, in Swedish. Sibelius thanks his correspondent for the present received on the occasion of his birthday, stating `The day of my birthday, as always, we had a sad and heavy snowfall. However, the wonderful and magnificient flowers made me feel the sensation of sun and Spring. How kind that you remembered me once again.´ Professionally repaired to the verso to the centre fold, otherwise G £600-900
