ANDROPOV YURI: (1914-1984) Soviet politician who served as General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union 1982-84. A printed 8vo booklet entitled Leninism is an Inexhaustible Source of Revolutionary Energy and Creativity, being a Russian text copy of an address given by Andropov at a ceremonial meeting in Moscow on the occasion of the 112th anniversary of the birth of Lenin, 22nd April 1982, signed and dated by Andropov in blue ink to the inside front cover and with a presentation inscription to Nikolai Emokhonov. Together with a second printed 8vo booklet (unsigned) entitled Communist Confidence is the Great Strength of the New World Builders, being a Russian text copy of an address given by Andropov at a gala meeting in Moscow dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Felix Dzerzhinsky in 1977. Also including an oblong 12mo red and black printed pass (numbered 004170) issued to Emokhonov and granting him access to Red Square for the funeral of Andropov on 14th February 1984.
