ARMSTRONG NEIL: (1930-2012) American astronaut, Commander of Apollo XI (1969), the first man to walk on the moon. A printed colour 4 x 6 invitation card issued to Mrs. S. Tredaway by the Directors of Thermalite, inviting her to a luncheon at the Savoy Hotel in London on 15th February 1985, to officially launch the Thermalite Lift-Off Campaign, at which Neil Armstrong was the Guest of Honour, the recto featuring a colour image of a space shuttle being launched. Signed by Armstrong in blue ink with his name alone to a light area at the base of the image. Accompanied by a small selection of colour photocopies of various images and newspaper clippings relating to the event, including one depicting Armstrong signing the present card in the presence of Mrs. Tredaway.
