NAIPAUL V. S.: (1932-2018) Trinidadian-born British writer, Nobel Prize winner for Literature, 2001. Naipaul thanks his correspondent for their letter and catalogue and continues to observe ´Much of what you say is true; but I think that the failure or unimportance of a writer in any particular country has good reasons. My publishing history in the United States is very confused´, also informing Brook that their letter has been passed on to Naipaul´s agent who will make contact in due course.
