Fantin-Latour states that it will be impossible for him to create anything for his correspondent's publication, explaining that he doesn't have any paint at his disposal, further remarking 'Les toiles que vous avez vues dans l'atelier sont toujours a votre disposition pour la gravure et cela sans aucune retribution' (Translation: 'The canvases that you have seen in the studio are always at your disposal for engraving and this without any retribution') and concluding by expressing his infinite regrets that he is not able to do more. One small, light stain, not affecting the text or signature, otherwise VG
