Corot apologizes for not being able to receive his correspondent, and states ` Je reviens de la campagne pour y retourner demain. Je vous remercie bien de votre lettre toute aimable et regrette bien de ne pouvoir vous recevoir à l´atelier avec votre amie, ne faisant pas de séjour. J´espère être plus heureux une autre fois. Excusez moi.´ (Translation: " I'm coming back from the countryside to go back tomorrow again. I thank you very much for your kind letter and regret not being able to welcome you to my workshop with your friend, as I will not be staying. I hope to be happier another time.
