MELBOURNE VISCOUNT: (1779-1848) British Prime Minister 1834, 1835-41. A.L.S., Melbourne, two pages, 8vo, South Street (Mayfair, London), 3rd July 1836, to Lady Buckinghamshire. Melbourne states that he should have been most happy to comply with his correspondent's wishes 'but I am afraid that the place in question is already promised', further remarking that he received a letter from Charles (?) some days ago, 'just as they were about to land, by which I was glad to hear that they were all in good health & spirits'.
