A.L.S., Wellington, one page, 8vo, London, 19th November 1829, to Sir Gore [Ouseley]. Wellington states that he has just received his correspondent's letter and remarks 'I am highly flattered by your present of the Arabian Mare. She shall at all events have a home for her life', further writing 'If you will send her to my stables in Downing Street I'll have [her] sent to S[tratfield] Saye'. With integral address leaf bearing a contemporary annotation 'Given me by the Duke's Godson Sir Frederick Gore-Ouseley, Saturday April 11th 1885 during a visit we payed him......'. Some traces of former mounting to the verso, otherwise VG
