BUTLER JOSEPHINE: (1828-1906) English feminist and social reformer of the Victorian era who campaigned for women's suffrage. A.L.S., Josephine E. Butler, two pages, 8vo, Park Road, Liverpool, April 1920, to a young lady, on the printed stationery of the British, Continental, and General Federation, in French. Butler informs her correspondent that they have left Paris and suggests that she introduce herself to Madame de Morsier or Mademoiselle Appia, providing their addresses and explaining 'Elles sont mes amies. Elles peuvent peut-etre vous donner des conseils ou vous assister a eviter le sort que vous craigniez' (Translation: 'They are my friends.
