NEHRU JAWAHARLAL: (1889-1964) Indian anti-colonial nationalist and statesman who served as the first Prime Minister of India 1950-64. The personal printed oblong 12mo Visiting Card of Nehru, unsigned, featuring his printed name to the centre and address as Allahabad, India, to the base, with two words in his hand above the address, Anand Bhawan, being the residence of the Nehru family. VG
Anand Bhawan was purchased by Motilal Nehru in the 1930s as a family residence. Today it serves as a historic house museum having been donated to the Indian government in 1970 by the then Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, daughter of Jawaharlal Nehru.
