JANNINGS EMIL: (1884-1950) - JANNINGS EMIL: (1884-1950) Swiss-born German actor, the first Academy Award winner for Best Actor in 1927/28 for his roles as August Schilling in The Way of All Flesh and General Dolgorucki and Grand Duke Sergius Alexander in The Last Command. Vintage signed 8 x 10 photograph of the actor standing in a half-length pose wearing an overcoat and hat and with a lit cigarette in one hand. Signed ( 'Emil Jannings' ) in fountain pen ink with his name alone to the base of the image. A few small pinholes to the corners of the borders and some light, minor creasing to the edges, G
