FREDERICK II: (1712-1786) King of Prussia 1740-86, known as Frederick The Great. A very unusual Letter Signed with three lines in the hand of Frederick II. A good and clean L.S., Friedrich, with three holograph lines beneath his signature `I will thank Him in Berlin myself for the good renting´, one page, 4to, Ruppin, 3rd December 1738, to the Minister of State & Finance Marschall, in German. The next future King states in part, `My dear and secret Finance Minister Marschall, I appreciate that he wants to convince Kircheisen to cede the loan to a special and unknown person, and I am very obliged to him for this favour, therefore please give me an opportunity so I can return this favour to him and show that I am indeed and without doubt his well affectionate friend´ With blank integral leaf. Samuel von Marschall (1683-1749) Prussian Finance Minister who served under both Frederick I and Frederick II. Marschall was one of the most important political figures of his time.
