LEOPOLD III: (1901-1983) King of the Belgians 1934-51 when he abdicated. T.L.S., ` Leopold´, one page, 4to, Brussels, 25th January 1937, to Cardinal Wan Roey, in French. The letter bears to the heading a very attractive Royal monogram crowned. Leopold, in his capacity as King, thanks his correspondent for his greetings letter, and states ` J´ai été très sensible aux voeux qu´Elle forme pour la prospérité de Mon Règne…´ (Translation: “ I have been deeply touched by the wishes that Y.E. has for the prosperity of My Kingdom…”) With blank integral leaf.
