BRAZZA PIERRE SAVORGNAN DE: (1852-1905) Italian-French explorer of Central Africa. A.L.S., P S. de Brazza, three pages, 12mo, n.p., 21 st June 1882, to a lady, in French. Brazza explains that he has been very occupied and regrets not having been able to come to his correspondent’s home, continuing ‘Je me permets de vous envoyer des cartes pour la sorbonne si vous voulez bien me faire l'honneur d'y a venir. Ce serait un grand plaisir pour moi. Je ne voudrais pas toutefois vous faire payer par trop d'ennui l'interet que vous avez bien voulu me porter’ (Translation: ‘I would like to send you cards for the Sorbonne if you will do me the honour of coming there. It would be a great pleasure for me. However, I would not like to make you pay with too much trouble for the interest you have shown me’). Some very light, minimal age wear, VG
