SOLOVINE MAURICE: (1875-1958) Romanian philosopher and mathematician, remembered for his friendship with Albert Einstein with whom he was a founder of the Olympia Academy. Autograph statement signed, M Solovine, one page, 4to, n.p., 21 st April 1952, in French. The head of the page is titled Maximes de vie des savants contemporains (Translation: Life Maxims of contemporary scholars) in the hand of a researcher and immediately beneath Solovine has penned four lines of text, ‘La chose plus précieuse de la vie est le temps; si en l'employant a mediter on arrive a des resultats solides dans le domaine de la recherche, on jouit du plus grand bonheur’ (Translation: ‘The most precious thing in life is time; if by using it in meditation we achieve solid results in the field of research, we enjoy the greatest happiness’). Some light creasing and minor age toning to the head of the page, only very slightly affecting the title. About VG
