Saint-Exupery was a French aristocrat who became a laureate of several France's highest literary awards and is best remembered for his novella The Little Prince (''Le Petit Prince'') (1943), and for his lyrical aviation writings, including Night Flight (1931) and Wind, Sand and Stars (1939). JEANSON HENRI: (1900-1970) French Writer and Journalist. Jeanson wrote for Le Canard Enchainé defending pacifism. He would later be arrested and freed on several occasions, before and during WWII, because of his activism in favour of pacifism. A very interesting content A.L.S., ` H. Jeanson´, two pages, 8vo, written to the first and third page, n.p., n.d., to Antoine de Saint-Exupery, in French. Jeanson addresses the present letter to his friend Saint-Exupery, calling him few times in the letter “ Saint Ex”, and stating in part `J´ai beaucoup pensé à vous, d´abord parce que je vous aime bien et ensuite parce que j´ai vécu et revécu nos impressions de détenu de 48 heures. Le récit que vous m´en avez fait m´avait frappé… Vous aves été admirable mais vous tombiez du ciel dans cet enfer et vous parliez une autre langue. La solitude me permet de me retrouver, de me reconnaitre et de renouer avec moi d´anciennes relations. Il y avait tant de malentendus´ (Translation: “ I thought about you a lot, first because I like you and then because I experienced and relived our impressions as a 48-hour prisoner. The story you gave me struck me... You were admirable but you fell from heaven into this hell and you spoke another language. Solitude allows me to find myself, to recognize myself and to reconnect with old relationships. There were so many misunderstandings”) Before concluding Jeanson states ` Marcel Achard à Paris, Korda à Londres et en Amérique font une petition…et pourtant les services que je pouvais rendre à l´extérieur sont moins négligeables que ceux que je ne rendrai pas ici.
