Maar states that it was a joy to receive her friend's good wishes and reciprocates in Spanish ( 'Feliz ano nuevo' ) and continues 'Je voulais vous telephoner mais je suis intimidee. Je pense a vous, et je prie Dieu pour vous. J'ai demande pour vous le bonheur' (Translation: 'I wanted to call you but I'm intimidated. I think of you, and I pray to God for you. I asked for your happiness' ). Maar concludes her letter in Spanish, sending 'muchos carinos' (Translation 'lots of love' ).
