[PEARL HARBOR]: BELLINGER PATRICK N.L.: (1885-1962) American Vice Admiral of World War II who, during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, was responsible for sending the message ‘Air raid, Pearl Harbor. This is no drill’ which was the first notice to the outside world of the attack. Signed commemorative cover featuring an attractive colour image and design of a lit torch with the caption beneath ‘Keep that light burning!’. Post marked at Washington DC, 10 th October 1946.
