CHINA: A good selection of signed cards and clipped pieces by several Chinese political and military figures of the 20th century, including Tsiang Tingfu (1895-1965) Chinese Historian and Diplomat. Tsiang joined the Chinese Nationalist government in 1935, further appointed Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations, 1945 and ambassador of China to the United States. Signed 5 x 3 card, `T. Tsiang«, also signed in Chinese characters in his hand. Accompanied by the original envelope post-stamped, Washington, 4th February 1944; V.K. Wellington Koo (1888-1985) Chinese reputed Statesman. He was China«s representative at the Paris Peace Conference of 1919, serving also as Ambassador to France, Great Britain and the United States. Sat as judge on the Court of Justice of La Hague, and was present at the founding of the League of Nations and the United Nations. Signed 12mo clipped piece `V.K. Wellington Koo«, also dated in London 1946 in his hand; Shang Zhen (1887-1978) Chinese General, and Chairman of several Chinese provinces. An awarded officer later appointed Director of the National Military Council 1940-44. Signed 5 x 3.5 card, `Gen. Shang Chen« in bold blue ink. Accompanied by the original printed stationery envelope of the Chinese delegation, military staff committee, United Nations, post-stamped in Washington, 12th June 1946; H.H. Kung (1881-1967) Kung Hsiang-Hsi, Chinese Banker and Politician. Brother-in-law of Chiang Kai-Shek. He determined in the 30«s and 40«s the economic policies of the Kuomintang. Signed 5 x 3 card, Washington, 1944. Accompanied by the original envelope together with several contemporary newspapers articles; Pellian T. Mar, Rear Admiral of the Chinese Navy. G, 6 £120-150
