PEREIRA FORJAZ MIQUEL: (1769-1827) Portuguese General, 9th Count of Feira. A very interesting A.L.S., Forjaz two pages, 4to, Belem, Portugal, 9th February 1812, to British Ambassador, Charles Stuart, in French. Pereira states in part `My dear Sir, I have also received a very detailed letter right now from Marshal Beresford and about same articles, announcing his arrival until the 20th. I will work on the matter in order to have the documents ready for his arrival.« further saying «Yesterday I also received a particular letter from my Lord Wellington, dated 4th, demanding providences regarding the desertion of the carters serving the army and complaining about the government..« He concludes his letter by requesting a meeting with his correspondent in order to confer a prompt response to Wellington. With a 1811 watercolour mark.
