OPPENHEIMER J. ROBERT: (1904-1967) American theoretical physicist, often credited as 'the father of the atomic bomb', The director of the Manhattan Project's Los Alamos Laboratory during World War II, Oppenheimer is the inspiration for the film Oppenheimer (2023) in which he is portrayed by actor Cillian Murphy. Fountain pen ink signature ('J R Oppenheimer') to the centre of a feint ruled oblong 12mo (13 x 7.5 cm) index card.
