SOMOZA ANASTASIO: (1896-1956) Nicaraguan dictator who served as President of Nicaragua 1937-47, 1950-56. Assassinated. An official diplomatic L.S., A Somoza, one page, folio, Managua, 26th June 1951, to Manuel A. Odria, President of the Republic of Peru, in Spanish. Somoza informs Odria that he has decided to conclude the mission of Dr. Jesus Aguilar Cortes as the Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary of Nicaragua to Peru, and further takes the opportunity to express his thanks for the courtesies extended to the diplomat, and sends his fervent good wishes for the well-being of Peru and Odria himself. Countersigned by Oscar Sevilla Sacasa, Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1949-56. With two blind embossed seals. With blank integral leaf. VG
